First Month of Internship with FN3

Hi All!

I just finished my first month of internship at the Florida Neonatal Neurologic Network. I absolutely love the job and my heart is completely for these babies with brain injuries.

So far, the other interns and I have created our first newsletter sent to all the network hospitals, renovated the mission, vision and values, and are in the process of re-designing the entire website.

I am having a blast and am learning how to take an organization from the ground to a fully-functional foundation.

If you are interested in learning more about the Network or donating money to help these babies, please visit http://www.peds.ufl.edu/divisions/neonatology/fn3/

Thank you!

Tips from Elaine Hendrix

Hey!

Well as my blog states, I will not only be talking about public relations but fashion and really anything that entertains me.

Elaine Hendrix, an actress and animal activist, was recently interviewed by Mr. Media on Blog Talk Radio. I called in to ask a few questions. She gives her advice to any young actresses trying to get into the business and also talks about her involvement with In Defense of Animals, www.idausa.org, and her other animal activist movements.

PLEASE LISTEN:

Alpha PRoductions 2010 Conference

Hey All!

Yesterday, March 1, Alpha PRoductions hosted its first conference! It was a huge success and the leadership did a FANTASTIC job! Alpha PRoductions is a student-run PR firm at the University of Florida. I have been involved with the firm for the past two years. The firm is a subset of our PRSSA Alpha Chapter.

I'll give a brief overview of what was taught to the 25 associate members.

There were four sessions that the students rotated through:
1. Creative Communications
2. Uplifting Leadership
3. Effective Interpersonal Relations
4. Financial Fundamentals

Each session was meant to be informative yet conversational. I learned several things but the most important was that Alpha PRoductions offers a professional experience in a very supportive culture. The firm was started in the 80's to give students real-world campaigns in a professional setting. I can honestly say that today the firm lives up to its original goal.

I have learned so much through the firm and have to thank Erika Zayas, Jessica Osorio and Micana Gallaway for putting on a FANTASTIC conference.

In the past year there have been many changes to the firm but I know they are all for the better. I am proud to be part of the organization!

Interview with Nikki Blonsky -- Star of blockbuster movie "Hairspray"

Hi Everyone!

Tonight I interviewed Nikki Blonsky, star of the hit film "Hairspray," because she was a judge at a local talent show. I had a blast doing the interview and learned a lot about my interview style and what I need to work on after watching the film.

Below is a link to the interview on YouTube. The quality of sound and lighting isn't that great but crank up your volume and enjoy!

LA Coming to an End

Hi All!
So I have not posted all summer, but that is not because I have not been doing anything.

My internship with mPRm Public Relations has been a true blessing. I have been rotating through their four departments (Film, Home Entertainment & DVD, Digital Media & Technology and Television). I have been to many events, including LA Film Festival, various premieres, screenings, launch parties, etc.)

As I only have two weeks left, I wish I could stay forever. I am now even more encouraged to utilize all of my Gainesville opportunities, in hopes to have a full portfolio that will be loved by my future employer!

In the coming days/weeks, I will update my blog with highlights from this summer!

I have also updated my Web site so check it out, www.VictoriaIsraels.com !!

Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of your summer!
